Choosing a Vanity Top That Makes the Whole Bathroom

Bathrooms are where the more dramatic stones get to live. A veined marble or a bold quartzite that might overwhelm a whole kitchen is perfect across five feet of vanity — the bathroom is small enough that the stone becomes art instead of wallpaper.

Sink style drives the fabrication. Undermount sinks give you that clean, wipe-straight-in countertop edge and are our most requested. Vessel sinks sit on top and need only a drain cutout. Integrated sinks carve the basin from the stone itself for a seamless look. Each changes how the top is templated and cut, so decide the sink before the stone is ordered.

Think about the details that read as custom: a matching stone backsplash a few inches high, polished edges on every exposed side, and faucet holes drilled exactly for your fixture instead of a generic three-hole pattern. These cost little on a vanity-sized piece and completely change the finished look.

One more reason bathrooms are a smart project with us: purchase your kitchen countertops from J & L and your bathroom materials are free. If you're planning both rooms, do them as one project — one template visit, one install window, two rooms finished.
