What Countertop Replacement Actually Looks Like, From Template to Install

Everything starts with the template. After you've chosen your slab, we come to your kitchen and build an exact physical pattern of your cabinets, walls, and appliance openings. This is where the fit is decided — the template captures the wall that bows a quarter inch and the corner that isn't quite ninety degrees, so the stone is cut to your kitchen, not to a drawing of it.

Fabrication happens at the shop, not in your kitchen. The slab is cut to the template, the sink and cooktop openings are cut and polished, and the edge profile you picked is shaped along every exposed side. Seams are planned here too, placed where sight lines and slab patterns hide them best.

Install day is faster than most people expect. The old tops come out in the morning, cabinets are checked for level, and the new stone is set, seamed, and sealed — usually all in one visit. A kitchen that was cooking breakfast on old laminate is often cooking dinner on new quartz.

The two things that keep a project on schedule: choosing your material before templating (the template is specific to the stone's thickness), and having your sink and faucet on site before fabrication so the cutouts match reality. Get those right and there's simply not much that can go wrong.
